Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Scout Group Subscriptions

Date: 18th Dec 2023 Author: Scout Websites

Our main source of income is the subscriptions paid by the parents/carers of our members.  Subscriptions for the year are split into three, four-month terms. By enrolling your child at the start of a term, you are committing to paying subs for the whole term, enabling the group to ensure that it covers the cost of the events booked for the children during that period.

Subscription amounts from 1st January 2024

Standing order per month Equates to termly amount of (4 x  monthly payments)
Friday Beavers £10.50 £42
Tuesday Beavers £16 £64
Cubs £16 £64
Scouts £20 £80

Subs are taken via Online Scout Manager (OSM), the tool we use to store contact and personal information, track badge achievements and book trips and residentials. Payments will be collected via direct debit (protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee).

You will receive an email with instructions for how to pay and a link to OSM shortly before joining the Group.

Gift Aid

The Government’s Gift Aid scheme allows us to claim back 25% on all eligible donations including subscriptions. We ask everyone to opt in or out (dependent on eligibility) via OSM. New members will receive an invitation to complete an online Gift Aid declaration, enabling us to create additional income for the Scout Group.

Assisted Places

Financial circumstances should not be a barrier to Scouting. We are pleased to help financially with  your child’s membership of our group through reduced subs (£8.50 per term), subsidised uniform &  bursaries to attend selected residential activities, if your family is eligible to receive one or more of the  following:

  • Income-related free school meals, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, Child Tax Credit (provided you are not entitled to Working  Tax Credit) and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190 as assessed by HMRC,  Working Tax Credit, Universal Credit, The Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit.
  • Members who are Young Carers or Looked after Children are also eligible for support.

Proof of eligibility will be required to confirm your entitlement when joining the Scouting group and on an annual basis (each September) going forward. To apply for support (or if you don’t meet the above criteria but still require financial assistance) please contact your child’s leader or the Group  Scout Leader. Your enquiry will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
